Week 16 - A video update

When we set out to capture our effort to build a home in Indiana, I didn’t appreciate how hard it is to publish updates on a dream that is still evolving. This week we have found ourselves overjoyed with progress. The walls were raised a few days ago. Then came the roof. Somewhere in there our electricity was turned on. And today, a Sunday, I’m looking at a house with roof sheathing and wall sheathing, a structure that is now unmistakable: we are building a home. We have our first rooms upstairs. Fittingly, it is our bedroom. “It’s wild,” Elizabeth remarked looking at the wall structures, “I have been envisioning this space for years, and now I’m standing in it.” That look of glee and excitement mixed with a little impatience. I know it well.

For all of our entertainment, we have a video compiled by Elizabeth. Enjoy 🍿
